Across Sierra Leone, many school-age children face a simple but devastating challenge: darkness.
When the sun sets, so does their ability to learn.
A large number of students do not have access to reliable electricity, if any at all. As a result, homework goes unfinished, reading is cut short, and potential is left untapped. To cope, many children rely on dim, hazardous kerosene lamps that produce toxic fumes and pose serious fire risks.
Right now, a child’s education is being limited not by ability, but by the absence of light.
At Develop Africa, we are working to change that.
Through this initiative, we are providing durable, long-lasting solar lights to students and families—giving them a safe, clean, and reliable source of light after dark.
With a simple solar light:
Light changes everything.
It extends study hours, improves academic performance, and opens the door to greater opportunity.
Your support can help place these life-changing solar lights into the hands of students who need them most.
