Emmanuel lives with his parents and two brothers in a mud and zinc-roofed house in Bassu Town, an impoverished section of Freetown. 

Emmanuel's father is currently unemployed, and his mother earns a small income by selling plastic slippers and vegetables on the street.

His favorite subjects are Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, and loves to play football. Emmanuel hopes to become a doctor someday to help struggling families like his own.
