Desmond lives with his family in a home that is made of three rooms, built with mud and thatch roofing in the Banga Farm community Bo District- Southern Sierra Leone. Access to electricity is a challenge for the Banga Farm community making it very difficult for school going kids like Desmond to study at night. There is no access to water; most often people fetch water from the nearby river, wells, streams, and swamps. Most homes are constructed of mud or brick with thatch and zinc roofing, which are unstable during a natural disaster.
