Safiatu lives with her parents, three brothers, and two sisters in a mud house with zinc roofing in the Kamawornie village of Karena District in northern Sierra Leone. Safiatu’s father is a community health worker, and her mother is a housewife. Her parents struggle to provide for their kids.

Safiatu is attending the Kamawonie Junior Secondary School. Her favorite subjects in school are Social Studies and Mathematics. Saffiatu dreams of becoming a nurse.
