Aminata lives with her parents and two siblings in a poor community on the far western edge of Freetown where access to clean water and electricity is a challenge for residents. Her father earns a small income as a teacher at the nearby primary school and her mother is a housewife. Despite her parents' efforts, it is difficult to meet the needs of their children. Aminata helps her mother by washing the dishes.
