Sallay has two sisters and three brothers. She lives in a mud house with a zinc roof with her father and siblings.  Sallay’s mother recently passed away.

Sallay is growing up in the Kamawornie village of Karena District in northern Sierra Leone. 

Sallay is attending the Evangelical Junior Secondary School and her favorite subjects in school are English & Social Studies. She also loves to read and explore the knowledge books have to offer. Sallay's desire is to become a teacher in the future. She loves to teach and pass on knowledge to others.
